Anika Buckley

Anika is a dynamic and effective lawyer, with extensive experience in family law matters, both parenting and property, and family violence matters.

Anika is known for delivering strategic advice, tailored to providing her clients with an outcome-driven and cost-effective solution. Anika builds strong relationships with her clients and colleagues.

Anika has extensive experience in complex parenting disputes, regularly representing parents in matters involving allegations of risk including family violence, mental health concerns and substance abuse; relocation and matters involving alienation. Anika guides and supports her clients to resolve their parenting disputes

In financial matters, Anika equips and empowers her clients to make informed decisions about their property settlement. With a background in commerce, Anika understands complex financial matters involving corporations, trusts and partnerships. Anika’s expertise extends to financial agreements, spousal maintenance and binding child support agreement matters.  Anika can also assist with consent orders.

Anika recognises safety concerns following a separation and has a keen interest in family violence matters, regularly representing clients and appearing in the ACT Magistrates Court. Anika can also assist with personal protection matters.

Directed to resolving the issues unique to their family law matter, Anika guides her clients through considered negotiation; dispute resolution processes such as mediation or collaboration; and provides strategic and effective representation in Court.  Anika adopts an empathetic approach, ensuring her clients feel supported and heard.

Anika holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University. Anika has been recognised as a Family Law Rising Star in the Australian Capital Territory for 2024, 2025 and 2026 in the prestigious Doyle’s Guide.
