Ellen Russell

Ellen Russell holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) with Distinction from the University of Wollongong, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Ellen recently completed her Master of Applied Law (Family Law) with the College of Law in May 2022. Ellen has been recognised as a Family Law Rising Star in the Australian Capital Territory for 2023, the fifth year in a row, in the prestigious Doyles Guide.

Since her admission as a solicitor in 2016, Ellen has worked almost exclusively in the area of Family Law. Prior to joining Robinson + McGuinness she worked for a national law firm specialising in family law. She has experience in both parenting and property matters in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Ellen’s objective is to provide advice and support to her clients during what is a sensitive and stressful period. Ellen is hard working, and takes time to understand her clients’ needs in a cost effective and timely manner. She understands that no two family law matters are the same, and is focused on achieving a result that is best suited to her clients and their circumstances.

Ellen is a member of the ACT Law Society, the Women’s Lawyers’ Association of the ACT, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association. Ellen also volunteers at the ACT Women’s Legal Centre.
