Prior to joining Robinson + McGuinness in 2015, Margot worked in a private firm in Canberra in family law, initially as a Paralegal and then as a Solicitor following her admission to the ACT Supreme Court in April 2014.
Margot has represented parties in a broad range of family law matters including complex financial and property disputes, spousal maintenance, parenting, divorce and domestic violence matters.
With an empathy for those going through separation, Margot offers assistance and reassurance to her clients while focusing on reaching practical and cost-effective outcomes. Assisting clients to reach an amicable and fair outcome is Margot’s objective in all matters through a cooperative pathway where possible.
Margot holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canberra and completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University.
Margot is a committee member of the Women Lawyers Association, a member of the ACT Law Society, the Family Law Section of the Law Council and the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association. Margot volunteers at the ACT Law Society Legal Advice Bureau, the Women's Legal Centre, including the Women's Divorce Clinic.
