Anna-Kate (Annie) Visser


Anna-Kate (“Annie”) has practised exclusively in family law since her admission to the ACT Supreme Court and High Court of Australia in 2013. Prior to joining Robinson + McGuinness, she worked for another Canberra Legal Practice specialising in family law.  

Anna-Kate graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts. She obtained her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through the College of Law.

Anna-Kate represents clients across a broad spectrum of family law matters, including complex parenting and property matters, child and spousal support matters, and matters involving family violence. She regularly appears in the Family Law Courts and has a research interest in relocation and same-sex relationships. Anna-Kate has a compassionate and outcome focussed approach, guiding her clients through the family law process to resolve matters in a timely and cost effective way. She is a qualified collaborative law practitioner and encourages her clients to consider alternate dispute resolution methods to keep matters out of Court.

Anna-Kate is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, the ACT Law Society, the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association and the Women’s Lawyers Association. She is a Committee member of the ACT Law Society Inclusion and Diversity Committee. She has volunteered at the Youth Law Centre ACT, the Central Australian Aboriginal Legal Aid Centre, Legal Aid (NT), and the ACT Women’s Legal Centre.
